About the role

The Health Coach will serve as the first point of contact for patients, building relationships and empowering them to reach goals using motivational interviewing techniques and training on Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) setup. Responsibilities also include collaborating on care planning, communicating with patients via various channels, completing initial patient intake, and performing retinal scans.

This model combines best-in-class therapies and technology with day-to-day support, coaching, and analytics to help patients to achieve extraordinary outcomes. What you’ll do We’re hiring an experienced Medical Assistant—referred to as a Health Coach at Ryse—to support both new and existing patients at our Bethesda, Baltimore, and nearby clinics. As a key member of our care team, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and play an important role in building trusted, professional relationships with them, their families, and the broader Ryse Health team. As a Health Coach, you will: Empower patients to reach their goals by using motivational interviewing techniques Train patients on continuous glucose monitor (CGM) setup and start Utilize CGM data to motivate, educate and empower patients to support their success Collaborate with the Ryse Health team on care planning and support patients in the successful implementation of care plans Communicate with patients through video calls, in person meetings, telephone and messaging Complete initial patient intake during clinical visits including overview of Ryse clinical model, vital signs, and medical history Complete retinal scan with patients Submit records requests for new and existing patients Review records and update charts as appropriate Prior authorization submissions Assist patients with filing medications and medication coverage Patient assistance application submissions Other duties as assigned About You 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting Motivational interviewing training a plus Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification and experience a plus Self-motivated and adaptable to changing processes Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, and keeping track of the little details Passion for the impact of your work on the broader world, and excitement to help reduce the burden of chronic disease We want you to know Ryse Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements

Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a clinical setting and be self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of balancing multiple priorities while paying attention to detail. Training in motivational interviewing, Phlebotomy, or Medical Assistant certification are noted as beneficial qualifications.
