Summary The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Non-Invasive Cardiology program at MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Northeast and Kershaw Medical Center. This role focuses on providing comprehensive, patient-centered cardiovascular care with an emphasis on the evaluation, diagnosis, and medical management of cardiovascular conditions through non-invasive cardiac testing and clinical assessment. The APP will work within a multidisciplinary heart and vascular team to evaluate and manage patients across the continuum of care, including both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, ordering and interpreting non-invasive cardiac diagnostic tests, and developing evidence-based treatment plans. Required Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Passion for delivering outstanding patient care and working in a collaborative team environment Commitment to improving outcomes for patients with advanced cardiovascular disease Position Highlights / Direct patient care activities: Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of patients with cardiovascular conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and development of evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with the cardiology team. Conduct cardiovascular consultations and follow-up visits in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring continuity of care and appropriate medical management. Order, review, and interpret non-invasive cardiac diagnostic studies including electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress testing, and ambulatory cardiac monitoring. Manage patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and valvular heart disease through guideline-directed medical therapy. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team including cardiologists, nurses, and ancillary staff to develop and implement individualized cardiovascular care plans. Provide patient and family education focused on cardiovascular disease prevention, lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and long-term heart health. Other professional expectations: Complete appropriate and timely documentation and billing. Demonstrate responsibility for professional practice through active participation in professional organizations and continuing education. Maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
