About the role

The Social Worker will facilitate a Self-Advocacy program across Adult Day program sites, coordinating workshops and yearly projects, while also assisting in providing social skills training in group settings. Salary Range

$21.49-$25.79/hr

What You'll Do

Facilitate Self-Advocacy program for all Adult Day program sites, including the coordination of relevant workshops, yearly projects, fundraising opportunities, and other Self-Advocacy events.

Assist in providing social skills training in a group setting to promote mental, emotional, physical, and social functioning.

Assist with intake of new participants and associated paperwork.

Act as liaison with internal and outside resources, (i.e. other Brightway programs, Brightway Transportation, Self-Advocacy of NYS, other agencies, etc.)

Maintain documentation in a professional, efficient, accountable, and confidential manner.

Other duties as assigned.

What You Need for the Role

Bachelor's degree in Social Work

Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Must be comfortable working with the Developmentally Disabled population.

What You Must Be Able to Do

Must be able to lift/move/carry 15 lbs.

Must be able to kneel, twist and bend.

Must be able to perform all physical SCIP techniques.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. A mandatory requirement is comfort working directly with the developmentally disabled population, along with the physical ability to lift 15 lbs and perform specific physical techniques.
