Minimum Qualifications

Healthcare Technician I: High school diploma/GED. Healthcare Technician II: High school diploma/GED. One (1) year of experience in patient financial counseling in a healthcare setting. Healthcare Technician III: High school diploma/GED. Two (2) years of experience in patient financial counseling in a healthcare setting. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialty clinic experience. Experience utilizing EPIC EMR. Bilingual in Spanish/English. Prior experience in outpatient clinic. Previous experience in prior authorization process, Medicare/Medicaid (CMS), and commercial insurance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Attention to detail. Strong Business and Organizational Competence. Time Management Skills with the ability to multitask. Tolerance for ambiguity and multiple conflicting deadlines. Initiative and adaptability to multiple conflicting deadlines. Ability to maintain personal accountability and integrity. Working knowledge of ICD9/10 diagnosis codes and CPT procedure codes. Electronic Medical Record proficiency.

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as: Healthcare Technician I: $41,736 – $48,413 Healthcare Technician II: $43,812 – $50,830 Healthcare Technician III: $46,008 – $53,371 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
