The Recovery Support Specialist assists clients in identifying and advocating for their recovery goals, utilizing appropriate program models and motivational interventions to strengthen recovery strategies. Duties also include conducting assessments, creating person-centered treatment plans, providing skills teaching, case management, and crisis intervention as needed.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience (HS +4 years or AS/AA +2 years), along with over 2 years of experience working with identified populations, preferably as an RSS. A required certification related to Recovery Support must be obtained within six months of hire, and a valid Driver's License is mandatory.

The Substance Screening Treatment Recovery for Youth (SSTRY) program provides outpatient substance abuse treatment to teens and young adults aged 12-24 utilizing an evidence-based approach by promoting a healthy lifestyle without the use of drugs and/or alcohol. The program is time limited, consisting of 10 individual sessions inclusive of parent/guardian and family sessions for the first 3 months of treatment. Following the first phase, is an additional 3 months of treatment to help reinforce skills in the community. Sessions cover a wide range of skills such as problem solving, communication, understanding the role of substance use in their lives, drug refusal, and many others.
About the Position: Recovery Support Specialist
Bachelor’s preferred, HS +4 years or AS/AA +2 years lived experience considered.
2+ years working with identified populations and specifically as an RSS preferred. Self identifies as an individual with mental health and or substance use disorder in long term recovery.
Recovery Support Specialist Certification from Advocacy Unlimited, Recovery Coach Certification from CCAR, or an equivalent certification related to the field of Recovery Support required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Valid Driver’s License required.

Starting at $20.30/hr min., and up commensurate upon experience.
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
