The Operating Room Retractor Technician assists during surgery by providing necessary retraction of tissues and organs under surgeon direction to maintain a clear surgical field. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those completing a surgical technologist or OR technician program, and prior operating room experience is strongly desired. Essential skills include knowledge of surgical instruments, strong manual dexterity, composure under stress, and excellent teamwork abilities.
