The technologist operates x-ray equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs as ordered by physicians, which involves positioning and instructing patients, adjusting equipment settings, and ensuring image quality. Essential functions include performing screening procedures, preparing equipment and rooms, monitoring patient safety during exams, documenting information, and verifying exams on PACS.
Candidates are required to possess American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R) certification, a state Radiologic Tech license, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. An Associate's Degree in radiological technology is preferred, and a Fluoroscopy license is required within six months of hire in California.

Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians. Positions and instructs patients prior to examination, adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.
