The Substance Abuse Counselor will provide therapeutic groups and individual interventions to support members in growth and recovery, taking responsibility for substance abuse treatment within the program. RiseWell Community Services is seeking a compassionate Full-Time Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at our PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) .
In this role, the Substance Abuse Counselor will provide therapeutic groups and individual interventions to assist members in growth and recovery.
Responsible for substance abuse treatment in program.
Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Complete all required documentation within a 48 hour period and complies with program and OMH regulations.
RiseWell’s Personalized Recovery Oriented Services program provides personalized attention, wellness classes, and intensive support to help individuals with a mental health diagnosis avoid relapses in both mental health and substance abuse recovery. Services are offered both on-site and in the community, and are tailored to assist members in achieving their unique personal goals (for example, employment and education).
CASAC or Masters in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling or related field preferred. NYS licensed preferred. At least one year of experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment. A valid and clean NY State driver license, fingerprinting, criminal record check, and approval from NYS Office of Mental Health.

Candidates should ideally possess a CASAC or a Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field, along with NYS licensure being preferred.
