The charge nurse provides direct nursing care to residents in a 24-hour setting, delegating and supervising care provided by nursing assistants. This includes administering medications, performing treatments, obtaining specimens, and completing required documentation while maintaining high-quality resident care.
Candidates must be a Licensed Vocational Nurse with a current Texas State license and possess the ability to read regulations and write clearly. Essential requirements include the ability to communicate courteously, make decisions in emergencies, function independently, and deal tactfully with all personnel and the public.
The charge nurse provides direct nursing care to residents in a 24 hour operation and delegates and supervises the care provided by nursing assistants. Administers medications, performs treatments and procedures, obtains specimens as needed, and completes documentation as required. Regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in assisting in the daily operation of the nursing department in accordance with current nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations and as directed by the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and/or Administrator to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. Must be able to read regulations and write clearly. Must be able to communicate in courteous, friendly manner. Must be able to evaluate and make decisions in emergency situations such as fire, tornado, and other disasters. Must be capable of functioning independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively. Posses the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members visitors, governmental agencies/personnel and the general public in all circumstances. Must report for duty at the scheduled time Ability to effectively manage and direct subordinates.
Porter Full Time (Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm) $17.50/HR + $50 gas stipend 20+ miles
CNA Full Time or Part Time (Monday Thru Friday 6:00am-6:00pm)
CNA Baylor Sat-Sun 6am-10pm
