About the role

The Registered Nurse will accurately perform patient assessments, identify patient needs, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions while providing age and condition-appropriate care. Responsibilities also include timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity and managing the revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.

More about our team 34‑bed Emergency Department Provides emergency care to patients across the lifespan A collaborative, fast‑paced team dedicated to high‑quality, compassionate care Opportunity to have a voice in improving patient care and making a meaningful impact every day How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.

Documents patient care provided.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.

Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What we’re looking for The right person who will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Applicants should have a current RN VA or compact state license and possess an associate’s degree in nursing.

Additional requirements include: Bachelor’s degree preferred American Heart Association Basic Life Support AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - both required within one year of employment-ACLS & PALS Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of a professional school of Nursing and hold current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State. Required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS), with AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within one year of employment.
