The phlebotomist is responsible for performing successful venipuncture to obtain blood and body fluids for laboratory procedures. They must practice safe blood collection techniques while demonstrating compassion for patients.
Candidates must have completed an accredited phlebotomy training program and have at least 1,040 hours of work experience as a phlebotomy technician within the past three years. Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS is also required.
