The nurse provides nursing services to the medical unit, including medication evaluations and crisis intervention consultations. They also participate in treatment planning and may provide therapy and related paperwork.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing school, with specific experience requirements for RN and LPN roles. Experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred for RNs, while LPNs should ideally have at least one year of nursing experience.

Provides medication evaluation, medication checks, calls in prescriptions, obtains samples, sometimes may provide individual, group and family therapy and subsequent paperwork. Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team Participates in peer review process for therapists All other duties as assigned by supervisor Special Attributes: Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families. Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations. Education and/or Experience: RN: Graduation from a four-year state accredited school of nursing and one year of experience in psychiatric nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LPN: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and prefer one year of experience in nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications
