The candidate will use protein biochemistry and cell biology to model systemic amyloidosis using clinical data and patient samples. The goal is to identify biological mechanisms of disease to develop and translate novel therapeutic drug candidates.
Requires a PhD and 3-5 years of experience with a strong background in tissue culture, antibody production, or biophysical protein characterization. Candidates must be able to publish peer-reviewed articles and compete for external funding.
The Boston University Amyloidosis Center is seeking an experienced scientist to join our diverse, interdisciplinary team, working to understand and develop new treatments for systemic amyloidosis. Working with our unique archive of clinical data and samples, the successful candidate will apply a range of approaches including protein biochemistry and cell biology to model systems and patient samples. The goal is to identify biological mechanisms of disease that can be targeted by novel therapeutics, and to translate that knowledge into potential drug candidates.
In addition to designing and performing high quality, innovative research, the successful candidate will be expected to publish peer-reviewed articles and compete for external funding.
