The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner will deliver competent medical care to patients under general supervision, performing tasks such as completing referrals, daily rounds, documentation, procedures, and prescribing. This role involves working closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to maximize patient care.
The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director, all physician partners, and their APP Manager, in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients at WakeMed.
This position can consist of both inpatient and outpatient care depending on the needs of the service and is outlined in the clinical job expectations.
This may include completion of referrals, consults, daily patient rounds, daily notes, discharge summaries, procedures, clinic notes, pre and post procedure care, prescribing and patient care follow-ups.
Will work closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to maximize the care we provide to our patients.
As a healthcare professional, will function as an educator for PA/NP/CNM/DO students from healthcare education programs.
Within this position the PA/NP will maintain the scope of practice to be consistent with the policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board and any other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as the policies and procedures of WakeMed.
Additional certifications such as Advanced Life Support may be required based on clinical area of practice, this will be outlined in the clinical job expectations and reviewed annually during the annual review process.

Basic Life Support Required within 6 months of hire. *Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1 year OR experience as an NP or PA.
