The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is responsible for administering anesthetics, monitoring patients under anesthesia, and initiating corrective actions based on clinical expertise and established protocols. Duties also encompass developing individualized anesthetic care plans, performing preoperative and postoperative patient management, and fulfilling leadership and educational functions.
Candidates must graduate from accredited schools of nursing and anesthesia, hold national CRNA certification, and possess Michigan licenses for registered nursing and specialty certification in anesthesia. A Master's degree in anesthesia or a related area is preferred.
