The technician must review patient history, educate patients on procedures, and prepare and administer contrast media or medications as ordered, while continuously monitoring the patient's condition. Responsibilities also include preparing equipment, selecting appropriate imaging parameters, implementing safety standards, performing quality control, positioning the patient, executing imaging procedures, analyzing results, and reporting scan data.
Applicants are required to possess a current state Radiologic Technologist license and a degree from an approved Radiologic Technology course, along with maintaining American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) membership or eligibility. Additional requirements include Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire and prior hospital training during the technology program.
