The Optometric Technician will assist optometrists by performing vision exams and eye health assessments for patients located in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. Key duties include conducting preliminary testing, preparing patients, administering basic diagnostic tests, and accurately documenting all clinical findings.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though completion of an Optometric or Ophthalmic Technician training program and relevant certification are preferred. Strong preference is given to candidates with prior experience in optometry or ophthalmology, especially within skilled nursing or long-term care settings.
