The Technologist performs high-quality Radiology, CT, Mammography, or MRI examinations on patients ranging from neonate through geriatrics, adhering to established protocols for physician interpretation. This involves operating imaging equipment while following radiation safety guidelines and accurately positioning patients using appropriate immobilization devices.
Candidates must possess an Associate’s Degree or equivalent and have at least two years of relevant work experience, graduating from an approved training program. Required credentials include registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), licensure by the SC Radiation Quality Standards Association, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Summary The CT, Mammography, or MRI Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT/Mammo/MRI Dual Registered Technologist performs high quality Radiology and CT/Mammo/MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician. Operates imaging equipment: Radiology and CT, Mammography, or MRI, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines. Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Work Experience: At least 2 years of multi-modality experience. Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT Advanced Modality Registration, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Has 1year to obtain second modality. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
