include demonstrating competency in administrative and clinical duties, accurately updating medical records via EHR, processing prescription refills, and supporting patient scheduling and follow-up. The role also involves preparing rooms, assisting providers during exams, administering treatments like vaccines and EKGs, and providing patient education while maintaining confidentiality.
Required qualifications include being a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or equivalent, holding Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA, possessing a typing speed of at least 40 WPM, and proficiency in basic computer applications, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1-2 years of clinical experience is preferred.
