The role involves evaluating speech, language, cognitive, communication, swallowing, clinical voice, and resonance disorders in patients. Responsibilities include developing and administering speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients across various age groups.
A Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology is required, along with current CPR certification for all age groups. Candidates must be certified (CCC) by ASHA or be in the process of obtaining certification within one year, and hold current licensure from the Georgia State Board of Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology.
Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.
