The Advanced Practice Provider assesses patients, develops and evaluates care plans, and performs necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. They also engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the professional development of staff.
Candidates must have a Master of Science degree or equivalent and be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant in Ohio. National certification in the appropriate population foci is also required.
Part-time or Full-time (24 - 40 hours per week) Night shift 7P-7A Our pulmonary specialists diagnose, treat and research a wide range of respiratory disorders, including asthma, cystic fibrosis, advanced lung disease, lung transplant and the management of chronic mechanical ventilation. Summary: Provides healthcare to individuals or groups that requires knowledge and skill obtained from advanced formal education, certification and clinical experience. Practices within professional scope and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the profession’s Code of Ethics and maintains a current Ohio Advanced License.
Essential Functions: Assesses patients and/or populations; develops, implements and evaluates plans of care; clearly documents and communicates information both in written and verbal forms. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines and standards as necessary for the care of the patient. Utilizing evidence based practice, serves as a clinical expert for policies, procedures, documentation, and skills. Assists in the education, training and development of new and existing staff members. Engages in the “community of the work unit” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, engages in Quality Improvement. Leverages technology and informatics to optimize healthcare outcomes. Commits to continued professional development of self and others. Contributes to the division and/or specialty goals and the Hospital Strategic Plan. Education Requirement: Master of Science degree or equivalent provision, required. Licensure Requirement: Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Ohio, required.
Maintains national certification as APRN in the appropriate population foci for the position, or PA, required.
