The MRI/CT Technologist will be responsible for performing high quality images per physician's orders while providing excellent patient care.
The potential candidate must possess high energy, be compassionate, flexible and have great attention to detail.
This is a full-time position based at the outpatient clinic in Chicago, IL and the schedule is Monday - Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain appropriate levels of supplies.
Performs duties of co-workers and subordinates as workload dictates.
Interviews patient to explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures and to request removal of metal objects which are hazardous to patient and equipment when magnet is activated.
Provide education and training for student technologists
Coordinate scheduling and patient flow
Start I.V.’s, administer contrast media as directed per protocol
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the MRI facility (includes cleaning floors and surfaces, replacing light bulbs in the ceiling of the MRI scanner room, leaving the trash can outside of the scan room to be emptied by housekeeping staff daily.
Operate the MRI/CT scanner to include routine and experimental setup, modification of scanning parameters to optimize data, weekly quality assurance testing, and basic troubleshooting of scanner malfunction

Work extended hours when necessary
Communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
Screening patients prior to scanning, gather accurate history, preparing patients for their scan, providing immediate medical treatment and assistance when necessary and responding to incidents and accidents within the MRI Suite.
Research and document any questionable implanted devices.
Document accurate and appropriate scan information in patient log book.
Maintain a safe and appropriate work area
Attend required meetings
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Work as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments
Practice proper safety precautions in the magnet environment
Use professional/ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.
Perform other duties as assigned
Stays abreast of and complies with all state and federal laws including HIPPA, OSHA, and FLSA.
Perform and document daily and/or weekly QA/ACR phantom requirements
Position patients to capture appropriate images
Demonstrate an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
The primary liaison between patients and radiologists and other members of the support team.
Accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions.
Comply with all client facilities policies, procedures and practices.
Ability to follow directions/instructions from supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
MRI (MR) certification required.
Radiography (R) certification required.
Computed Tomography (CT) certification required.
BLS certification required.
Minimum of one year of MRI orthopedic experience; plus CT experience required.
One year of Siemens MR Scanners and GE CT Scanner experience preferred.

Pay Range
$39.00 - $48.00 per hour. Compensation at MOR is determined by many factors, which may include but are not limited to, job-related skills and level of experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market data and internal equity. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
