The Nurse II will plan, provide, and supervise nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and related health conditions, diagnosing and treating human responses to health problems through direct care and counseling. This role also involves executing prescribed medical regimens and supervising junior nursing staff, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Clinical Support Assistants.
Candidates must possess a Registered Nurse license in New York State and meet specific experience criteria, such as one year of full-time oncology or critical care experience, or two years of medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting. An alternative path includes one year of medical-surgical experience combined with successful completion of Roswell Park's Nurse I orientation and satisfactory independent function for three months.
- Critical Care Outpatient Units (Ambulatory Services) Includes: - Breast, Chemotherapy/Infusion, Dermatology - Thoracic, Urology, Leukemia, Gynecology, Pediatrics - Head & Neck/ Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery - Neurosurgery/ Neuro-Oncology & Infectious Disease - Survivorship Center/Supportive Care / Pain - Infusion - Operating Room - Diagnostic Radiology - GI ⭐ What You’ll Do as a Nurse II As a Nurse II, you will: - Plan, provide, and supervise nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer‑related health conditions. - Diagnose and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems through patient care, health teaching, and health counseling. - Deliver interventions that support or restore life and overall well‑being. - Execute medical regimens prescribed by physicians, dentists, or other licensed healthcare providers as authorized under State Education Commissioner regulations. - Supervise Nurse I staff, Licensed Practical Nurses, Hospital Clinical Assistants, and Clinical Support Assistants. - Perform administrative tasks within assigned areas of responsibility. - Promote professional growth through participation in educational programs, review of current literature, and attendance at in‑service meetings and workshops.
