About the role

The Registered Veterinary Technician will support Technician and Doctor teams by maintaining a positive, low-stress environment for patients and clients, aiming to deliver an outstanding client experience to facilitate exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include performing physical examinations, patient assessment, laboratory sample processing, assisting with diagnostic imaging, and managing patient recovery.

VCA West Coast Specialty and Emergency Animal Hospital is looking for a Surgery Registered Veterinary Technician.

  • Compensation: $26.50 - $32.00 ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule, and additional responsibilities.

Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient. You’ve worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT), and we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in.

The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to: Physical examinations, patient assessment, and collecting patient histories Processing laboratory samples in-house Preparing laboratory samples for outside labs Managing medical records, reports, and correspondence Assist with Diagnostic Imaging (Radiology, Ultrasound, CT Scans) Assist with patient recovery Pharmacy Venipuncture/catheter placement Knowledge and experience with anesthesia monitoring Safe animal restraint and handling Strong multi-tasking skills Effective verbal, listening, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with team members of all hospital services

Requirements
