Independently perform clinical care for critically ill newborns in a Level III NICU. Provide high-quality, evidence-based care and serve as a resource for other team members.
Requires a nursing degree and a valid Maryland RN license or the ability to obtain one. BLS and NRP certifications are required, with 1-2 years of NICU experience strongly preferred.
Our Registered Nurses in the NICU independently perform clinical care to infant patients. Working with a dedicated team, the Registered Nurse provides evidence-based, high quality care to critically ill newborns and serves as a resource for other team members. Our 26 bed, Level III NICU is a part of the Family Childbirth and Children’s Center at Mercy.
Shift: Nights; 7:00 pm-7:00 am
Diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school (a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment) Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or the ability to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board One - two years of clinical nursing experience in a NICU is strongly preferred Healthcare Provider-Level CPR (BLS) certification, and NRP required NICU/PEDS - NRP within 6 months of hire

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
