Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 333-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis. FLSA Status Non-ExemptOverview Of Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical care and coordination skills to every patient served in the unit using the Eskenazi Health model of care, Synergy. The Acuity Adaptable Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates with the patient, family/loved ones and other healthcare disciplines to ensure care is appropriate to patient care needs.

Qualifications

Associates Degree in Nursing from accredited college/university required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university preferred. Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse or eligibility for license.

BLS certification required (Can be obtained during onboarding training). ACLS Certification required (Can be obtained during onboarding training). NIH Certification required (Can be obtained during onboarding training).

• Essential Responsibilities Effectively utilize the nursing process to perform all nursing functions in an efficient timely manner, in accordance with policies, procedures, Indiana State Practice Act, and Eskenazi Health Model of Care-the Synergy Model.
• Utilizes and documents the nursing process thru appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, & evaluation of patient care as evidenced by client/staff observation; care acknowledges physiological, psychological, spiritual, diversity & cultural needs.
• Engages patients & loved ones with appropriate health information and education in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, calm, and professional manner.
• Participates in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate assistance and educational offerings.
• Demonstrates understanding of and participates in shared governance at the unit and hospital and organization-wide level.
• Demonstrate understanding of customer service concepts and apply to practice.
• Provides personal and individualized patient care to ensure comfort and wellbeing.
• Utilizes effective and efficient interdisciplinary communication.
• Maintains safe patient care and & advocates for patient safety.
• Participates in clinical and operational performance improvement using evidence-based practice.
• Collaborates with leadership regarding staffing to help ensure adequate & appropriate staffing reflective of census & patient care needs.
• Maintains a positive & calming presence to ensure a positive working relationship and environment for all.
