Practice Details

  • Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Transplant Surgeon to join Transplant Surgery department in Fargo, North Dakota. Completion of an ASTS-certified transplant surgery training program, UNOS certification, and ability to obtain ND license required.
  • Join developed kidney transplant surgery team and partner with our experienced transplant surgeon
  • Candidate should possess strong clinical expertise in kidney transplantation, minimal invasive living donor nephrectomies, as well as surgical vascular access creation and PD catheter placement
  • Academic appointment available through the University of North Dakota School of Medicine
  • Research opportunities are available, but not required
  • Region’s only Level I ACS verified Adult Trauma Center + Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Individuals with interest in teaching medical students and surgery residents are of particular interest

Job Description

Performs transplant surgery, laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy, inpatient & ambulatory patient management, & inpatient transplant consultations.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree

Successful completion of a fellowship in Transplant Surgery

  • Must hold an active medical license for each state in which the physician practices – either physically or virtually.
  • Must have a DEA for each state in which the physician physically practices.
  • Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada).
  • If physician is not board certified upon commencement of employment, they must achieve board certification as outlined in the privileging documents.
  • Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.

Compensation
