Key responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, managing patient flow, escorting patients, taking vitals, assisting with clinical procedures like EKGs, and collecting lab specimens. The role also involves administrative tasks such as greeting patients and verifying insurance when needed.
Candidates must have graduated from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program and possess BCLS certification obtained through in-person training from the American Heart Association. Current Medical Assistant certification is preferred, along with strong clinical skills like phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
