The Phlebotomist/Processor is responsible for collecting, transporting, and processing laboratory specimens through venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures. Key duties include accurately labeling specimens, managing receipt using computer systems, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
A High School Graduate or equivalent is required, with some experience or training in phlebotomy or laboratory science being preferred. Candidates must be able to walk 5-7 miles daily, stand for the entire shift, and adhere strictly to safety protocols regarding biohazards and PPE.
Located at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, OH PRN/Pool - day shift hours during the weekdays (no weekend or holiday rotations)
The Phlebotomists/Processor collects, transports, and processes laboratory specimens.
Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures according to departmental procedures. Accurately label and prepare specimens for testing or transport. Complete requisitions and manage specimen receipt using computer systems. Deliver specimens to testing areas. Maintain equipment and assist with problem-solving related to patient draws and orders. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and departmental policies. Conduct inventory checks, train new employees, and maintain a safe work environment.

Safety & Physical Demands: Ability to walk 5-7 miles daily and stand for entire shift. Exposure to biohazard substances and hazardous chemicals. Adherence to safety, ergonomic, and health policies. Compliance with PPE requirements in lab or biohazard areas. Completion of required safety training and health evaluations promptly.
