About the role

Personal Care Aides are responsible for delivering high-quality care and support to aging and disabled residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and overall well-being. Duties include assisting with all care needs, maintaining confidentiality, reporting changes in condition, assisting in the dining room, and taking vital signs.

Overview Livingston Place Assisted Living is committed to providing affordable, personalized care to aging and disabled residents of Washington, DC.

The community is managed by Calvary Street Management, a subsidiary of Gilbane Development Company.

Livingston Place Assisted Living is currently seeking compassionate, professional, and experienced full-time or part-time Personal Care Aides to join our team.

In this role, Personal Care Aides are responsible for delivering high-quality care and support, ensuring each resident’s comfort, dignity, and overall well-being.

Ideal candidates demonstrate kindness, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

This position requires a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the principles and values of our community.

Successful candidates will have a caring nature, a respectful approach, and a genuine willingness to support and care for elderly residents.

Current Part-time or Full-Time opening shifts: Day Shifts (7 A - 3:30 P) Evening Shifts (3:30 P - 11 P) Overnight Shifts (11 P - 7:30 A)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists with all of the care needs a resident might require
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident and fellow employee’s information
  • Notifies the nurse on duty, Director of Nursing, or Executive Director of resident changes of condition.
  • Assists in the dining room during meal times including, but not limited to, set up, take meal/beverage orders, serve, bus tables
  • Assists with activities when required and/or be responsible for getting the residents to scheduled activities
  • Responsible for getting residents ready and to the lobby for scheduled appointments
  • Will be aware of what constitutes a change of condition and report to Licensed Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Director of Nursing immediately
  • Capable of taking accurate vital signs and weights
  • Capable of assisting in-care needs of residents, which might include lifting requirements up to 40 pounds
  • Keeps current on First Aid/CPR
  • Attend and participate in the scheduled mandatory in-services and other scheduled meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or any other management staff

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Valid DC - Certified Nursing Assistant license or DC- Home Health Aide certificate High School Diploma or equivalent preferred 2+ year of previous experience required Valid First Aid/CPR certifications; training provided KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients Basic understanding of medical terminology Proficient in the English language #Calvary Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. For Washington, DC this ranges from $43,680.00-$47,840.00 plus benefits and retirement program. Requirements

Candidates must possess a valid DC Certified Nursing Assistant license or DC Home Health Aide certificate, along with 2+ years of previous experience and current First Aid/CPR certifications. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and candidates must demonstrate strong service orientation, critical thinking, and proficiency in English.
