The Veterinary Assistant will support veterinarians and technicians during medical procedures, including exams and surgery, while providing compassionate care and handling for all patients. The Village Vet is looking for a compassionate, eager Veterinary Assistant to join our team, help support our clients, and make a difference within veterinary medicine through empathy, and teamwork.

At The Village Vet, we believe in providing the best standard of care possible while continuously growing and learning as a team.

We are deeply connected to the Chelan community, taking pride in our strong relationships with our clients and their pets.

As one of the few hospitals in the area offering both general practice and urgent care medicine, while maintaining our gold-standard patient care, we always come through.

What You’ll Be Doing As a Veterinary Assistant, your duties will include: Assisting veterinarians and technicians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.

Providing compassionate care and handling for patients of all sizes and temperaments.

Preparing and maintaining exam rooms, surgical suites, and equipment.

Performing diagnostic tests, such as lab work and radiography, under supervision.

Educating clients on basic pet care and post-treatment instructions.

Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring a clean and organized clinic environment.

Qualifications

Experience: No experience required! We are willing to train the right candidates.

Requirements

Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred, requiring strong diagnostic, technical, and communication abilities along with a positive attitude and attention to detail. Candidates must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
