The Staff Nurse will primarily provide direct nursing care for oncology patients, focusing on the administration of chemotherapy and related oncologic therapies, while also educating patients and families on side effects and disease processes. Key duties include mixing and administering medications, performing venipunctures, accessing ports, monitoring clinical treatment, and documenting all care provided.
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience in oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration, and hold a current Iowa nursing license and BCLS certification. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, along with general computer proficiency, are required for effective collaboration within the interdisciplinary team.
Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification. Up to 5 professional references will be requested at a later step in the recruitment process.
