The primary duties involve performing phlebotomy and collecting appropriate patient specimens, ensuring necessary pre-authorizations and consents are obtained before collection. Responsibilities also include maintaining detailed documentation, managing laboratory inventory, processing specimens and reports, and operating designated laboratory equipment.
Candidates must possess five or more years of relevant experience and a High School diploma or equivalent; licensure from an accredited phlebotomy school is recommended. The role requires physical dexterity for equipment manipulation, the ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally, and adherence to strict regulatory and safety compliance standards.
