About the role

Responsibilities

include recording and delivering organized rounds, evaluating incoming patients, and partnering with the care team on treatment plans and client communication. The role also involves collecting, processing, and preparing blood products while maintaining strict protocols and managing blood bank inventory.

Proposed work schedule; Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 8a - 6p and alternating every other weekend from 8a-6p MedVet is a fast-growing Emergency and Specialty provider with practices nationwide.

Things like chemotherapy and radiation, cardiac ablations, treatments for glaucoma, physical rehabilitation, dermatology and so much more!

Our patients need constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are being executed.

You should enjoy phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, assisting with recovery and client follow up and education.

We are looking for: Credentialed Veterinary Technician to work with Critical Care Team and Blood Bank What you’ll do: Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns Collect, process, and prepare blood and blood products (e.g., red cells, plasma, platelets) according to strict protocols and safety standards.

Perform blood typing, compatibility testing, and antibody screening to support safe transfusions and critical care decisions.

Maintain inventory and storage of blood products, ensuring proper labeling, tracking, and compliance with quality control procedures.

Document and manage accurate records of all blood bank activities, including test results, product distribution, and regulatory reporting.

Support quality assurance practices and routine calibration/maintenance of blood bank laboratory equipment.

Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing Who you are: State Registered Veterinary Technician license required Prior veterinary experience required, previous Critical Care, Nursing or Emergency experience desired Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.) Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Perks and Benefits include: Comprehensive Health Benefits, Vision and Dental HSA, FSA and Dependent Care FSA 401k with employer match Elective short-term disability and company paid long term disability Elective Life and AD&D Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Shift Differentials and On-call Pay Uniform Allowance Employee Pet Discounts and Pet Insurance Continuing education opportunities and assistance program Strong career growth and personal development opportunities Come as you are.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a State Registered Veterinary Technician license and prior veterinary experience, with Critical Care, Nursing, or Emergency experience being desired. Proficiency in calculations, flexibility with work hours, and excellent communication skills are also necessary for this fast-paced environment.
