The Sonographer provides clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and serves as a resource to students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions. This includes communicating effectively with patients to obtain necessary history and explaining procedures to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and must be ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS, or RVT registry eligible, obtaining certification within 18 months of hire. A Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required upon start, along with recent experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
