This role functions as part of the clinical team, providing direct patient care under the supervision of licensed professionals like an LPN, RN, or provider. Responsibilities include assisting with clinical, administrative, and clerical duties such as taking patient history, preparing rooms, collecting specimens, and managing front office support.
The minimum qualification requires a Specialized Diploma as a Medical Assistant, the ability to adapt to change, initiative, independent and collaborative functioning, and excellent computer skills including EMR proficiency. A Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required within 30 days of employment in Pennsylvania.
