About the role

The Intake Assessment Coordinator is responsible for managing the entire intake and admission process for both Inpatient and Outpatient Services, which includes handling inquiry calls, assessing mental health status, and making patient safety recommendations to the physician. Palm Point Behavioral Health (affiliated with Universal Health Services) is a 74-bed behavioral health hospital is located in Titusville, Florida minutes from Cape Canaveral. Palm Point Behavioral Health treats adults, children and adolescents that suffer from a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including, depression, anxiety and substance abuse in a modern and well-appointed facility. Palm Point behavioral health offers inpatient treatment options and serve communities in Brevard County and beyond. Titusville, located on Florida’s Space Coast, is approximately 30-miles north of historic Cocoa Beach, and 40-miles east of Orlando’s famous theme parks. Position Summary

The Intake Assessment Coordinator is responsible for being able to perform all aspects of Palm Point Behavioral Hospital’s intake and admission process for both Inpatient and Outpatient Servives, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the PPBH physician; identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information in Med Series 4. Job Duties/Responsibilities: Responds to telephone inquiries Knows PPBH programs and is able to answer general program information Determines initial clinical and financial eligbility Conducts psychosocial evaluation on each assigned admission, gathers data Coordinates with the treatment team, family and patients

Qualifications

  • Job requirements Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health counseling Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field preferred.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or mental health counseling. A minimum of two years of experience in the mental health field is preferred, along with strong communication and teamwork abilities.
