The Speech-Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat medically complex pediatric patients, from birth to 21 years old, with feeding and swallowing disorders on acute care floors. This involves caring for critically ill patients in the Cardiac and Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units while collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team.
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, ASHA Certification, New York State Licensure, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience evaluating and treating pediatric feeding and swallowing in an acute care setting is required.
Competency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies with pediatrics. Experience working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Experience working with Trach/Vent pediatric patients. Experience working with complicated cardiac, GI and ENT diagnoses. Required Criteria: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association. New York State Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 2+ years’ experience evaluating/treating pediatric feeding and swallowing in an acute care setting.
