The Care Partner is a member of a self-managed work team and is responsible for successfully coordinating the team’s efforts to provide the best care possible to the members of the Crane House. The responsibilities of the Care Partners include providing personal care, cooking, housekeeping, as well as planning and leading activities meaningful to the members all while maintaining the members’ independence by promoting autonomy and choice in their daily activities. The care partner will build a relationship with every member based on trust and respect and all care performed will be done in such way to uphold the members’ dignity, to create a supportive environment of true home and community, and to add to the enrichment of each member’s life.
Enjoys all aspects of caring for older adults with the goal of maintaining the person’s independence and keeping the care specific to each member.
Takes pleasure in socializing with older adults whether it’s during a planned activity or a spontaneous conversation throughout the day.
Conveys a sense of understanding and regard for other people’s feelings, especially with individuals who have physical or cognitive impairments.
