Candidates should have previous experience as a phlebotomist and a phlebotomy diploma is preferred. Knowledge of legal requirements for blood draws and strong computer skills are also required.

Prioritize requests for sample collection based on urgency Collect patients’ personal information Determine the correct venipuncture method for each patient Provide patients with reassurance during the collection process Use sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw blood Correctly label samples and send them for testing
Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician Phlebotomy diploma preferred Knowledge of best practices in patient identification methods Familiarity with the legal requirements regarding blood draws and fluid samples Strong computer and data entry skills
