  • Schedule: Variable shifts, weekends, and holidays as required Sign-On Bonus This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 with a two-year work commitment. Purpose Performs imaging procedures at a technical level without constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes while providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Identify patients using two approved patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for all procedures. Review patient history, physician orders, and departmental protocols to ensure optimal image acquisition and diagnostic accuracy. Document patient history and relevant clinical information within the electronic medical record. Administer oral (PO) and rectal contrast according to physician orders and departmental policies. Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols and procedures. Operate complex imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, manipulate, and document image data. Ensure all examinations are accurately coded, tracked through the RIS system, transmitted to ISITE for interpretation and archiving, and appropriately charged. Adjust imaging protocols as needed using independent clinical judgment to achieve high-quality diagnostic images. Explain procedures clearly to patients, address concerns, and encourage cooperation throughout the imaging process. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote efficient patient care. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, dignity, respect, and excellent customer service in all patient and team interactions

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved School of Radiologic Technology, or verification from an ARRT-approved program confirming completion and scheduled graduation date.
  • Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under the indirect supervision of an ARRT-certified Diagnostic Technologist until degree completion is verified.
  • Strong communication, patient care, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of image quality and patient safety.
  • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist required.
  • Must obtain ARRT Radiography certification within: 6 months of hire for Diagnostic Technologists hired on or after January 1, 2025.
  • 12 months of hire or transfer for Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
  • CPR certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards and include both didactic and skills demonstration components within 30 days of hire.
  • Technologists may not work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification has been obtained.
  • For positions located in New York State: Must hold certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Must maintain appropriate licensure through the New York State Department of Health.
  • Individuals practicing under a temporary permit: Must work under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist.
  • Must obtain ARRT certification within 180 days of the permit issuance date.
  • Temporary permits expire 180 days from issuance, upon denial of the license application, or 10 days after notification of failure of the licensing examination, whichever occurs firs

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology and must obtain ARRT radiography registry within 6 to 12 months of hire, depending on the hire date. A current CPR or BLS certification, meeting AHA standards, is also required within 30 days of hire.
