As an OBGYN Sonographer in our Ambulatory Clinic, you will play a vital role in delivering high quality diagnostic and specialized imaging services for patients, including those with high risk conditions. You will work side by side with radiologists, residents, and an interdisciplinary care team to provide accurate imaging, compassionate patient support, and a seamless care experience. What You''ll Do: Follow department protocols and communicate any exceptions to the radiologist. Assist with specialized imaging exams as needed. Capture high quality images and complete all required documentation to ensure exams are ready for radiologist review. Welcome patients and guide them through the exam process by answering questions and coordinating with physicians or radiologists when needed. Manage phone calls by scheduling patients, providing information, and directing calls appropriately. Collaborate with clinics, physicians, nurses, and other departments to support patient care. Support daily operations by performing tasks such as image processing, patient transport, cleaning and restocking rooms, and ordering supplies. Prepare preliminary reports and communicate with referring physicians when required following established procedures. Maintain full working knowledge of RIC and PAC systems, including creating, sending, and retrieving images and patient information. Perform all ordered sonographic exams independently in both diagnostic and specialized areas while maintaining a professional appearance and presentation. Contribute to performance improvement efforts by assisting with data collection and sharing ideas to enhance customer service and workflow. Promote quality improvement, patient and staff safety, and cultural diversity through daily work and interactions. Deliver care in a way that meets each patient’s physical, emotional, and educational needs while ensuring safety at all times. Maintain a courteous, helpful, and professional demeanor with patients, visitors, and all team members. Stay current on all applicable regulations, guidelines, and compliance standards. Follow the Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Plan, and required policies while participating in compliance activities as directed. What You Bring (Minimum Requirements) Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program Registered in good standing with ARDMS and must have both OB GYN registry and Nuchal Translucency certification upon hire or within 12 months of hire Strong communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Knowledge of human development and ability to provide care for patients of all ages Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to assist with patient movement and positioning Comfortable using computers to input and retrieve data Must maintain BCLS certification for continued employment For advancement must demonstrate progression in OB Sonographer skills as defined by the role Working at University Health is about making a difference.
