The Occupational Therapist provides direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to patients following a physician's referral, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations. Key duties include performing evaluations, completing care plans, establishing goals, and communicating frequently with Occupational Therapy Assistants who implement the treatment.
Candidates must be able to perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, develop care plans, and collaborate closely with patients, families, and the care team to set and achieve functional goals. Essential requirements include maintaining current OT licensure, CPR/BLS certification, an active fingerprint card, and the physical ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and safely transfer patients.
Must be able to perform Occupational Therapy Evaluations, complete care plans, establish goals, and communicate frequently with OTA’s who will assist in implementing the above Work closely with patients, family members and other care team members to adequately plan for patient needs, to include short term and long term goals Verify patient information and confirm purpose of treatment Monitor each movement to ensure the patient is performing them properly to avoid new/further injuries Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans Chart appropriately and daily, to include therapy notes, treatment times and labor hours Assist patients in recovery and improving skills needed for daily functionalities Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions Must utilize good body mechanics at all times Must be able to make safe, independent decisions when circumstances arise Must be knowledgeable of occupational therapy policies and procedures as well as the laws and regulations Must utilize good body mechanics at all times Understand and comply with company policies Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients Must demonstrate dependability and regular attendance Must have excellent customer service, clinical skill, and communication and positive attitude Be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds, safely transfer patients, and participate in staff training related to safe patient handling Must demonstrate dependability and regular attendance Must be able to work effectively and productively Education and Certification Requirement Current OT License CPR/BLS Certification Active Fingerprint card Qualifications
