This role involves working under the supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist to operate radiology equipment, verify patient identity, and assist with procedures by obtaining necessary medical history and explaining the process to the patient. Responsibilities also include acquiring appropriate images, reviewing them, documenting observations, maintaining room stock, responding to emergencies, and participating in quality improvement activities.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with completion of at least one year of training in an accredited Radiologic Technology school, or 9 months at a DMC school. Required certifications include the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) by the end of orientation, and preferred experience includes two to four months of clinical rotational experience as a student.
