This role involves providing continuing care and monitoring for critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns in a 46-bed Level IV regional referral NICU. Responsibilities include providing care both within the NICU and during transports to ancillary departments like MRI, CT, and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience in a Level II, III, and/or IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, although exceptions may be made at management discretion. Required education includes a BSN or ADN (with a plan to obtain BSN within five years), an unencumbered Oregon State RN License, and current AHA BLS and NRP certifications.
Internal Applicants: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Stable Certification for those with NICU experience Bilingual: Spanish/English Specialty certification specific to Neonatal Nursing Additional Details Length of Orientation – Experienced Nurse External candidates: OHSU & Nursing New Employee Orientation (NEO) for about a week. Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Specialty Fellowship/Fellowship Learning Pathway or Orientation experience from 3 days-26 weeks depending on the care area.
