Applicants must have a current MLT certification or be able to achieve it within 90 days of starting. Clinical laboratory experience is preferred, and phlebotomy skills are essential.
Description Ortonville Area Health Services Lab Department is seeking a PRN MLT to join our Lab team. The MLT performs clinical tests in any one or combination of areas of specialization, approved by the Director of Laboratory Services, used for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The candidate will perform testing in all areas of the laboratory including Phlebotomy, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, Chemistry, Molecular, and Blood Banking.
The MLT will maintain the integrity of test results and continuity of technique from one testing area of the department to another, determine the source of the problem when test validity is in question, and has the ability to perform lab tests under the pressure of heavy patient workload, deadlines, and schedules
Applicants must be responsible, reliable, self-motivated, be able to work independently, and have excellent people skills Applicants must possess a current MLT certification or be able to achieve certification within 90 days of start date Clinical Laboratory experience is highly preferred, Phlebotomy Skills are a must Enjoys working as part of a team and contributing to a positive, supportive work environment This is a PRN or as needed position. This position is expected to work a minimum 24 hours a month, with a portion being weekend call with call pay. They are also included in the holiday rotation.
