The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist will conduct diagnostic assessments, create treatment plans, and monitor client progress while adhering to state statutes and organizational policies. They will also maintain documentation and coordinate client care with necessary support services.
Candidates must have a Master's Degree or higher in a mental health discipline and be a licensed mental health professional in Minnesota. They should also have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and at least two years free from chemical use problems.

Adhere to MN State Statutes, code of ethics, insurance requirements, and Northstar’s policy and procedures. Maintain Continuing Education requirements to keep license in good standing. Maintain a minimum of 25 billable hours per week. Conduct Diagnostic Assessments. Create treatment plans and monitor client progress. Complete documentation with a focus on quality, compliance, and in a timely manner. Coordinate client care with necessary support and services in the best interest of the client, if applicable. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Experience: Master’s Degree or higher education in mental health discipline. Must be a Licensed Mental Health Profession in the State of Minnesota (LP, LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT)—fully licensed or pre-licensed. Demonstrate competent use of the DSM-V and evidence-based approaches. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and time management skills. Proficient organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to function well in a high-paced and changing environment. Adept to learning and navigating Electronic Health Record system. Strong computer skills. CPR Certification or attain within 30 days of hire (in-house training available). Must have 2 years of freedom from chemical use problems. Must pass a drug screen and a State of MN Background Check.
Familiar with Procentive (EHR). Training or certification in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, EMDR, etc. Strong motivational interviewing skills. Work independently, think critically, and cultivate a solution-focused mindset.
