Expectations

The LVN supports the physician and nursing staff in the delivery of healthcare by performing patient care assessments, and a variety of medically related tasks. The LVN is a licensed nurse who works in an ambulatory care setting to perform and provide nursing services within the scope of practice.

Education

High School Diploma or GED required. Diploma from accredited Vocational/Technical LVN program required.

Experience/Training

1 year LVN experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Required: Current unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license issued by State of California Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

Preferred

Current Intravenous Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certificate issued by California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT)

  • Communication - Ability to convey and/or receive written/verbal information to/from various audiences in different formats. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to communicate, verbally and in writing, with staff, customers, and patients over the telephone or in person.
  • Regulatory - Ability to use discretion and maintain privacy, confidentiality, or anonymity. Maintains confidentiality of patient care and business matters. Ability to interpret and apply knowledge of State, Federal and Agency standards to comply with regulations. Working knowledge of subject matter domain areas in clinical quality, patient safety, regulatory and reimbursement context. Ability to deliver safe, appropriate, ethical and evidence-based care in an effective, efficient, and professional manner. Incorporates feedback, self-reflection, sound clinical reasoning and problem solving to continuously improve quality of care and operational processes.

The estimated base rate for this position is $30.00 - $45.00.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma, a diploma from an accredited LVN program, and a current unrestricted California LVN license and BLS certification. One year of LVN experience and an IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Certificate are preferred.
