The NICU RN provides highly specialized and compassionate care to critically ill newborns while offering emotional support to parents navigating the intensive care setting. This role involves collaborating with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other nurses, and revising the plan of care based on family response and patient progress.
Candidates must possess a valid North Carolina RN License or a Compact State RN License, along with required experience. Essential certifications include BCLS and PALS.
The NICU RN is responsible for providing highly specialized and compassionate care to critically ill newborns, while providing emotional support to parents, helping them navigate the challenges of having a newborn in the intensive care setting. The NICU RN works closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists and other nurses within the NICU setting. Evaluates the family's response to care and teaching and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members.
Valid NC RN License or Compact State RN License required. Experience required. BCLS and PALS required.
