The Licensed Massage Therapist will provide direct massage therapy services to hospice patients according to their care plan and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to assess individual needs. Responsibilities also include documenting care provided, reporting patient reactions to staff, and contributing to agency training programs.
The role requires providing massage therapy services aligned with the Hospice Patient Plan of Care and actively participating in team assessments and consultations. The therapist must also maintain timely and accurate documentation of services rendered in patient charts.
a) Provide direct massage therapy services to patients in accordance with the Hospice Patient Plan of Care.
b) Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings as requested to assist in assessment of individual needs.
c) Provide consultation with Hospice professional staff regarding massage therapy plans and problems. Provide staff development in-service training regarding use of massage therapy as required by the agency.
d) Observe and report to the Team Leader or Primary Nurse the patient's reaction to massage therapy and any related changes in the patient's condition.
e) Document care and service provided on Hospice progress notes in the patient's chart and update plan of care in a timely manner per agency standards.
f) Participate in agency's Quality Assurance and in-service training programs.
